The Vienna Comedian Harmonists - The Christmas Show
Look forward to a concert of a special kind!
They sing, they swing, they entertain their audience - from well-known melodies from the swinging 20s and 30s to cool jazz numbers, ironic Viennese songs, and new interpretations of operatic classics. The five gentlemen of the State Opera Choir - two tenors, two baritones, and a bass - along with their pianist manage to delight their listeners again and again with a large portion of "Viennese charm", a lot of lightness, and a touch of humor. They transport their audience with their magnificent interpretations into the sparkling world of variety shows and stage performances of the last century, bringing to life the world of the original Comedian Harmonists. Sailors glide from harbor to harbor wondering when Marie will finally hear them, as the Stars & Stripes sparkle when the guitars play, and one delightedly realizes in the best of spirits what a wonderful world it is. From "The Bar at the Crocodile" to Cole Porter, from "Puttin' on the Ritz" to Giacomo Puccini, this stage show leaves no wish unfulfilled and provides good entertainment at the highest musical level.
