THE MESSIAH - The new, quirky comedy at the Gloria Theater
Christmas comedy by Patrick Barlow
“The Messiah” is a quirky, British Christmas comedy in which a more or less. The talentless artist duo Theo and Bernhard want to bring the Christmas story to the stage. In doing so, the two take on all the roles themselves: the archangel Gabriel, the grumpy carpenter Joseph, the frustrated housewife Mary, Roman tribunes, clumsy shepherds, and the Three Wise Men.
They are supported by Ms. Timm, a friend and opera star with no stage experience and questionable talent. With only a few props, the music from Handel's “Messiah,” and above all your active support, the question arises: Can this go well?
Look forward to an unconventional Christmas spectacle and a story full of ambition, (in)competence, friendship, and Christmas miracles.
“This somewhat different Christmas story is a delightful two-hour joke” (Süddeutsche Zeitung) and “a single theater fun” (Der Standard).
